Yeah, so...

The wi-fi in the room just decided it didn't want to play nice with Mr. Laptop anymore, so I wasn't able to post Five for Friday after all. Sorry about that. I was thinking about slapping it up there today, but I think I'll just save it until next Friday.

Yesterday was crazy-busy with an immersion in high art of the museum kind, the silver screen kind, and the stageboards kind.

I'll write more about the trip when my aural distraction is provided by barking dogs rather than yappy Starbucks patrons.

We're here, we're cold.

Mostly poked around in the theater district yesterday, considered some options for half-priced tickets at the sketchy-looking discount ice shack in the middle of Times Square before deciding we're seeing the only shows we really want to see, wondered who could provoke a group of screaming teenage girls to stand multiple stories below the MTV studios and scream whenever they passed by the plate glass window, ate at a busy deli, ate at a nearby Thai restaurant, and generally got used to being here.

We depart this morning (in mere minutes actually) for New York City.

There's a lot on the agenda for a few short days, including a fiftieth anniversary production of Waiting for Godot and

Jennifer Jason Leigh in Mike Leigh's Abigail's Party.

We'll see how well-wired the city that never sleeps is, as I'm going to try to continue our "Five for Friday" tradition this week.
